Yunnan, China — mud-dye and embroidery — Scene concept; real photograph to come

The collection

Oriental

In Yunnan, indigo is not a colour, it is a process: fermented, dipped, dried, and finally buried in mud to fix the dye. Every panel comes out different. We keep the technique, we standardise nothing about the colour it produces.

Cindy's first-person design note for this collection is being written from her trip notes.
